The school and the Kiwanis of North Palm Beach are co-sponsoring the third annual Strive Five for the Hive 5K Run, 3K Walk at 8 a.m. March 11 at The Gardens Mall. The first 300 registered participants will receive a dry-fit race shirt. There will be trophies for first place, participant medals and breakfast at Brio Tuscan Grille for all registered participants.
Eric Stern, K-12 Health and Physical Education Curriculum administrator for the School District of Palm Beach County, has been named the 2018 Channing Mann Physical Education Administrator of the Year by SHAPE America, the Society of Health and Physical Educators. He was selected for the award because of his work to support health and physical education at the national, state and local level, and for exemplifying the highest standards in accomplishment, innovation, and leadership. He will receive the award at the National SHAPE America conference in Nashville, Tenn., later this month.
The Palm Beach County Youth Services Department is accepting applications through April 13 for summer camp scholarships. The scholarship program offers eligible children ages 5-14, and a special population up to age 17, a full scholarship to day camp for the entire summer. The scholarship covers all tuition and fees for children residing in families with income at or below 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines.
