An opioid investigation by West Palm Beach police has led to “multiple” arrests of people who authorities say were panhandling on city streets, officers said Friday.
Authorities said those arrested were selling opioids such as fentanyl and heroin and used the money they collected to support their drug habits.
It was not immediately clear how many people were arrested.
A news conference will be held Friday afternoon on the arrests, said Sgt. Dave Lefont, city police spokesman.
