Missing woman last seen in northern PBC


The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to find a woman who has been missing since around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Investigators think that Karen Borchardt, 50, left Vero Beach on foot and then hitchhiked a ride south. She was last seen wearing faded jeans, a dark blue shirt, and a dark blue baseball cap.

The most recent known location as to where she has been seen is in the Northlake Boulevard area of northern Palm Beach County. 

The sheriff’s office stated that due to extenuating circumstances and concern for her well-being, they are asking for anyone who has information about her whereabouts to call Treasure Coast  Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477 or Detective Cassinari at 772-978-6240.
