UPDATE: One dead, another injured in Fort Pierce shooting


10:30 a.m. Tuesday UPDATE: Mizee Hodge, 21, of Fort Pierce died after being shot Monday in Fort Pierce, police said. 

Authorities found the 21-year-old near a car by the intersection of Avenue I and North 31th Street. An 18-year-old with a gunshot wound was found about a block away. The teen was shot but is expected to survive his injuries.

ORIGINAL POST: Two people were injured after a shooting in Fort Pierce Monday evening, according to city police. 

Officers responded to the 1000 block of North 31st Street, north of Orange Avenue and west of North 25th Street, at 6:20 p.m. Two unidentified people were found injured and then taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police. 

Police late Monday were still searching for the alleged shooter or shooters. Investigators did not provide any information about those suspected in the crime.
