Suspect in rapper's slaying in Broward court, 2 other men sought

A suspect in the shooting death of rapper XXXTentacion last week in Deerfield Beach appeared in court today as police continue to search for two suspected gunmen

Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22, was in a Broward County courtroom this morning, charged with murder, WSVN reported. Investigators say he was identified using surveillance video from the Deerfield Beach motorcycle shop where the rapper had stopped on June 18, along with images posted to XXXTentacion’s social media platforms.

Broward Sheriff’s detectives say they believe Williams blocked XXXTentacion's car while the other men shot the rapper, the arrest affidavit says.

XXXTentacion, whose given name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, 20, was slain as he drove out of the business in his BMW.

Williams, who was on probation at the time of the shooting, was taken into custody two days later.

A public memorial will be held Wednesday at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, the late rapper's attorney told New Times. It will include an open-casket viewing with cell phones and cameras prohibited.
