A Royal Palm Beach man is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail after he allegedly hit another man over the head with a cinder block during a robbery attempt in Greenacres, according to an arrest report.
Nathan Noel Quintana, 18, is facing charges of robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Jeremy J. Johnson, 20, of suburban West Palm Beach, was arrested Aug. 15 in connection with the case and is facing the same charges as Quintana, as well as two counts of probation violation. Johnson also is being held without bail.
Quintana and Johnson allegedly tried to rob the man after he cashed a check Aug. 10 for $1,170 at Ed’s Foodstore Deli along Lake Worth Road near Jog Road in Greenacres.

As the victim walked to his car, Johnson allegedly punched him in the back of the head, the report said. When the man turned to look at Johnson, Quintana allegedly hit him in the head with the cinder block.
The victim was taken Wellington Regional Medical Center where he received nine stitches to his head and ear. The report indicates the man was able to keep the two attackers from taking his money.
During a jailhouse telephone conversation with his girlfriend, Johnson allegedly made mention of an accomplice referred to as “Kilo,” the report said. An unlocked Instagram post showed “Kilo” to be Quintana, the report said.
Officials at Royal Palm Beach High School, where Quintana was a student, helped to identify him to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Records show that Johnson is serving probation through May 16, 2019, after he was convicted in November on charges of possession of a gun by a felon, burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
