LATEST: Wellington teen facing adult charges in robbery of pizza deliveryman


A 16-year-old Wellington resident is facing adult charges after he and a 19-year-old man allegedly robbed a pizza deliveryman at a home they were burglarizing, according to a sheriff’s report.

Ryan Earl Jones Jr. is charged with robbery with a weapon, burglary and grand theft. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Friday and released Saturday after posting a $28,000 bond.

Jones allegedly used a hand drill to simulate a gun during the Feb. 23 robbery. Cash and two large Domino’s pizzas valued at $15.77 were taken from the deliveryman, the report said.

No one was injured.

Jones and Samuel Lubin allegedly also stole more than $1,000 worth of valuables from the home on the 13900 block of Sheffield Court they are accused of burglarizing.

Lubin was arrested July 31 and identified Jones as his accomplice, the report said.

Lubin is facing the same charges as Jones and remains in jail in lieu of $18,000 bail.

Jones was arrested Aug. 2 and had been held at the Juvenile Assessment Center until he was moved to the adult jail.
