LATEST: Port St. Lucie bank robbed at gunpoint; police seek three men

City police are seeking the public’s help in finding three men who robbed Seacoast National Bank in Port St. Lucie on Thursday morning.

Police say three men armed with handguns jumped the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled the branch, located at Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Westmoreland boulevards between Florida’s Turnpike and U.S. 1, in a stolen white SUV, which police said they found abandoned a block away.

Eleven people were at the bank when the incident occurred, police say. In surveillance-camera images, employees can be seen cowering behind their desks, while a suspect points a gun at them and another takes money.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Port St. Lucie Police Department at (772) 871-5001 or leave an anonymous tip with Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477 (TIPS).
