JUST IN: Second arrest made in Palm Beach Gardens home robbery

second arrest has been made in an armed home robbery last month that left a Palm Beach Gardens man with a broken leg and other injuries, according to an arrest report.

Jared Nicholas Piccirilli, 22, of Jupiter is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail. He is facing charges of aggravated battery, robbery with a firearm and grand theft between $300 and $5,000.

Palm Beach Gardens police arrested Piccirilli on Aug. 29.

Bailey Rhynn Brittain, 19, of West Palm Beach also is being held without bail on the same charges after her arrest Aug. 7.

Palm Beach Gardens police say a 21-year-old woman, whose name is blacked out in the report, also was involved in the robbery. The woman has not been arrested as of Thursday morning.

The robbery took place Aug. 5 on Periwinkle Court, in the Mira Flores apartment complex on the northern border of The Gardens Mall.

The victim told Palm Beach Gardens police that the two women were at his home when Brittain said she was stepping outside to her car to retrieve her cellphone.

When Brittain returned, she was accompanied by a gun-wielding Piccirilli, the report said.

The victim fought with Piccirilli and ended up with a broken leg, multiple facial lacerations and other injuries. He was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where he underwent surgery.

A safe containing about $1,500 was taken from the home, police were told.

Brittain admitted to the roles that she and the other woman played in the robbery but declined to identify Piccirilli, the report said.

During a search of Brittain’s cellphone, text messages were found in which she discussed the planned robbery with the unidentified woman and Piccirilli, the report said.

Palm Beach Gardens police say that Piccirilli bragged about the robbery and beating up the victim on social media.

Court records show that Piccirilli is on probation through Feb. 8, 2021, after he was convicted in February 2017 of a robbery.
