UPDATE: West Palm police ID boy, 15, killed after crash on 45th Street

A 15-year-old is dead after a crash in West Palm Beach Monday evening, according to city police.

Investigators were called to the intersection of 45th Street and Village Boulevard, just west of Interstate-95, where the driver of a BMW crashed at 7 p.m.  According to police, Lindskey Taxil was speeding eastbound on 45th Street when he ran a red light.

First, the car crashed into a Honda Accord and then continued on hitting signs, officers said. Taxil was taken to a hospital where he died.  The driver of the Honda had minor injuries, police said.

Investigators said the BMW was reported stolen from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction.

For about two hours, northbound lanes on Village Boulevard were closed at 45th Street and 45th Street was closed eastbound at Military Trail as police investigated the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked call city police at 561-822-1900.
