Pedro Torres, sought in connection with the murder of his wife in Vero Beach, is believed traveling south from Indian River County, possibly to Broward.

The husband of a slain 45-year-old Indian River County woman has fled to Southeast Florida, detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office say.

Pedro Torres “is known to frequent Broward County and is believed to be somewhere in that area,” according to the department.

Vicky Torres, 45, was found dead early Sunday morning inside the couple’s home in the 8100 block of 102nd Avenue in Vero Beach.

Preliminary evidence has led detectives to believe that her husband killed her before fleeing south. Pedro Torres is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar Sunday urged anyone with information on this to call 9-1-1 immediately. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 by contacting Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS (8477) or by visiting their website at www.tcwatch.org.
