The mayor of Davenport, Fla., was arrested on Wednesday after deputies said she was caught using deceased persons’ handicapped parking cards to park her car.
Mayor Teresa Bradley, 60, faces charges of criminal use of a deceased person’s ID, possession of a counterfeit decal, and unlawful use of a handicapped placard, WFLA reports.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Bradley’s arrest stems from an investigation that started in November. The sheriff’s office received a tip that Bradley kept parking in the handicapped spots at city hall, but she was not handicapped.
Once deputies obtained photos and videos of Bradley using the handicapped placards, they issued a search warrant for Bradley’s home and found two placards that belonged to two deceased women-- one who died in August 2012 and another who died in 2015.
Bradley was taken to the county jail and released after posting a $2,250 bond, WFLA reports.
