BREAKING: One wounded in Riviera Beach shooting


One woman was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Riviera Beach, city police said. 

The shooting occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in the 800 block of West Seventh Street, off Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard west of President Barack Obama Highway. Police found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert.

His condition has since been upgraded to stable and it is expected that he will survive, police spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown said. 

Police say the shooting was from a domestic incident.

According to witnesses, the shooting victim and a woman were engaged in an argument when the woman left the residence. It is believed that she called another man for help, who then shot the victim. 

The investigation remained open Tuesday night.
