BREAKING: Boynton police ID man, 21, killed outside community center

8:30 a.m. UPDATE: Damas Ilceus, 21, was shot and killed Tuesday night outside the Ezell Hester Community Center, Boynton Beach police confirmed.

Officers responded to a shots fired call shortly before 7:30 p.m. They found the Boynton Beach resident fatally shot.

It was the first confirmed homicide of 2018 in Boynton Beach.

10:30 p.m. UPDATE: Police continued to speak with witnesses after a fatal shooting in Boynton Beach Tuesday night.

Investigators have not released any information about the man who was killed or the circumstances around his death.

Original Story: Boynton Beach police officers are investigating a shooting that has left one man dead, according to a police spokeswoman.

The shooting happened outside the Ezell Hester Community Center, off Seacrest Boulevard south of Gateway Boulevard. Officers had crime scene tape surrounding the playground and tennis courts at the park.

Police were called to the scene at about 7:30 p.m.
