UPDATE: Atlanta flights canceled, delayed at PBIA

power outage at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta has created some headaches at Palm Beach International Airport.

According to PBIA’s website, as of 6 p.m. Sunday, five flights from Atlanta have been canceled, and four flights to Atlanta have been canceled and three delayed. Another three inbound flights and an outbound flight Monday were cancelled.

At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, seven flights from Atlanta were canceled and three delayed, while six flights to Atlanta were canceled and two delayed, according to that airport’s website.

At Miami International Airport, seven flights have been canceled from Atlanta and one has been delayed, while two flights to Atlanta have been canceled and four delayed.

Check with your airline if you have a scheduled flight out of any local airport this evening.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the outage was initially reported at 1:15 p.m. Flights into Atlanta were being delayed at departure points, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Delta Air Lines released a statement at 4:30 p.m., saying they were “working to deplane customers from aircraft that have not been able to park at a gate due to the outage.”

Hartsfield-Jackson is the world’s busiest in terms of total passengers, according to The Telegraph.
