Two dead, one injured in Wellington after car crashes into trees

A Connecticut woman who lost control of her speeding Chevrolet Camaro on Wellington’s South Shore Boulevard on Saturday night is dead.

Dana McWilliams, 19, of Bethany, Conn., died instantly, as did a still-unidentified 21-year-old man in the front seat.

Sitting in the back seat, Elaine Halloran, 24, of Wellington was seriously injured. She has been airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The car was heading south at high speed on South Shore Boulevard just north of Lake Worth Road. McWilliams drove into the center median, crashing through several trees before finally stopping several hundred feet from where the car first swerved, police said.

The accident took place shortly before midnight in the 3600 block of South Shore.
