BREAKING: Man found shot near Turnpike entrance near fairgrounds


A man was shot Saturday afternoon in an industrial area near the entrance to Florida’s Turnpike along Southern Boulevard, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound after responding to a report of shots fired about 4 p.m. in the 7600 block of Hooper Road, near the intersection with Pike Road in suburban West Palm Beach, authorities said.

The site is just east of the South Florida Fairgrounds.

It was not clear how many times the man was shot.

Fire-rescue medics took the man to a hospital, the sheriff’s office said. His condition was unknown. 

Deputies did not release his identity Saturday afternoon as they investigated the incident.
