Two Georges a fresh catch for seafood

MENU

Whether you’re in the mood for fried shrimp and sea scallops, or barbecue baby back ribs and chicken wings, you can go by sea or land at Two Georges. Stop in by 6 p.m. during the week to choose from a sampling of early bird specials.

ATMOSPHERE

The eatery is famous for its unique waterfront setup in the heart of the Boynton Beach Marina overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Step inside to find a bar area and high-top tables, or dine on a dock-like platform stretching across the water. There is also covered cushion seating, similar to patio furniture you might find at an upscale home on the East Coast.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

With seafood on our minds for the main course, we opted for the loaded baked potato skins ($9.99) as an appetizer: the four swoonworthy potato halves (two whole potatoes) are served with melted cheese, a decent sprinkling of bacon bits and side of sour cream. The Maryland crab cakes ($16.99 special) — voted the best in South Florida — won both of our entree decisions, too. They were packed with crabmeat, and came with two sides — one which we upgraded to vegetables (95 cents) and some crispy fries (because you can never have enough potatoes).

REASON TO GO

With the tropical drinks, social atmosphere and waterfront setting, it might be difficult to not have your next family gathering here.

SERVICE

Our waitress was friendly and patient every step of the way. She gave honest opinions about entrees, too.

NOISE LEVEL

On a Friday, the place was packed with large parties and families. The restaurant is also known for its bar and lounge, so it’s safe to expect noise most of the time. Try weeknights or daytime dining for a quieter alternative.

KID FRIENDLY

Kids will marvel at the big boats at the docks and appreciate the wide menu options.
