Taste of Italy inspires Carrabba’s Italian Grill

MENU

Italian-inspired appetizers, salads, brick-oven pizza, chicken, veal, seafood and, of course, lots of pasta are on the menu here, dressed up in a variety of sauces.

ATMOSPHERE

The Stuart restaurant is warm and upscale, with dim lighting and a direct view of the chefs hard at work in the open-air kitchen. Brick walls, wooden tables and lanterns give it a cozy feel, and the inviting bar lets you keep up with sports on two nearby TVs.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

A waitress brought out complimentary bread with seasoned olive oil dip while we studied the menu. The chicken trio combo ($23.79) was a superb combination of Chicken Bryan, Pollo Rosa Maria and chicken marsala, served with my choice of pasta and a cup of soup or side salad. The Chicken Bryan was a tender breast wood-fire grilled and topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, basil and lemon butter sauce, while the Rosa Maria was chicken stuffed with fontina cheese and prosciutto, topped with mushrooms and the butter sauce. The variety of exotic tastes kept my senses engaged the entire meal.

REASON TO GO

Tasty, authentic Italian food in a rich setting that’s ideal for date night. Unlimited baskets of freshly baked bread were served with pesto sauce, a mixture of basil, olive oil, garlic, cheese, nuts and parsley. Food portions were big enough that we brought leftovers home. This chain of restaurants also has locations in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Royal Palm Beach, North Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie.

SERVICE

Personable and friendly staff. Our waitress recommended her favorites and made our experience a pleasant one. Very quick to refill our beverages and bring new bread.

NOISE LEVEL

Fairly noisy chatter from nearby tables on a recent Saturday night.

KID FRIENDLY

Children get their own activity menus here, with neat stuff to color and cool foods like chicken fingers, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli and chicken.
