Best camping near five of the closest natural springs to Palm Beach County


Florida has so many  natural springs it makes your community swimming pool look boring. And if you want to spend more than just an afternoon in crystal-clear water, we’ve done your homework. Stay at one of these camping sites, which are just a few minutes by walking, biking or driving from a natural oasis.

*Note: Pets are NOT allowed at the springs. However, they are allowed at the campgrounds but can’t be left unattended while you go swimming. Plus, that’s just rude.

Camp by Alexander Springs  

There are two camping sites inside the Ocala National Forest close to Alexander Springs: Landing 42 and Alexander Springs Campgrounds.  Landing 42 also offers primitive camping. Some campsites are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Others are available by reservation.

Camp close to Warm Mineral Springs 

Just 4-5 miles west of the beautiful Warm Mineral Springs in North Port is the Rambler’s Rest RV Campground. This campsite is NOT for tents or primitive camping. RV or cabin rentals are available for reservations only. This recreational area also features the comfort of a swimming pool, laundry room, sport tournaments and more.

Camp at Kelly Park Springs  

There are two options to camp next to Kelly Park/Rock Springs Run in Apopka. Camp inside Kelly Park or at Camp Joy, which is adjacent to Kelly Park. Stay next to this year-round, 68-degree spring and enjoy a range of activities from tubing, biking, and hiking.

Kelly Park features offers a full-service concession stand, picnic pavilions and playground. Tent and RV camping are available at this park.

This place must be a camper’s favorite. It requires a 45-day window just to book a reservation. Tent, RV, and trailer camping sites available.

Camp next to Wekiva Springs 

Probably the most popular springs by central Floridians, Wekiva Springs inside Wekiva Springs State Park in Apopka is a quick drive from Orlando. But why stay in Orlando when you can spend the night in the park? Get your own tent or RV and camp at the Wekiva Springs campground.

Camp by Lithia Springs 

Lithia Springs Regional Park offers a  first-come, first-serve campground that’s good for RV or tent camping. No reservations needed, but try to arrive early to get a good spot.
