A choreographed ‘Messiah’ for kids, adults

When you think of “classical dance,” the famous tunes written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev and Ludwig Minkus probably come to mind. Once a year, however, DKDC/DIY Projects shakes up the status quo by pairing George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” with modern choreography. The West Palm Beach–based dance company takes the stage with this innovative piece on Sunday afternoon. The production is suitable for both kids and adults.

Handel’s “Messiah” for Kids: 2 p.m. Sunday. Mandel Public Library, Third Floor Auditorium, 411 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. Info: 561-578-8726 or www.dkdcdiyprojects.org
