Palm Beach County named one of the world’s top travel spots by Forbes

Palm Beach County has been named one of the world’s top vacation destinations by Forbes Travel Guide.

Forbes’ list, posted on its website Wednesday, features the guide’s picks for the top 18 places to visit in 2018. The travel guide pointed to Palm Beach County’s 47 miles of beaches, arts and cultural attractions, and the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches spring training facility, as reasons the area stands out from other tourism spots.

Forbes also noted the newly-launched Brightline passenger train service, which it said makes it “easier than ever” to get to Palm Beach County. Brightline runs as many as 11 round-trip trains a day between Fort Laderdale and West Palm Beach.

Other destinations to make the list include Sydney, Australia; Asheville, North Carolina; Sanya, China and South Korea.

Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO for Discover The Palm Beaches, the official tourism marketing organization for Palm Beach County, said making Forbes’ list is a “huge honor.”

“When our diverse collection of cities and towns is ranked alongside first-tier cities such as Sydney, Toronto, Seattle and Buenos Aires, it is clear we’ve moved up to the major leagues,” Pesquera said.
