Lifespace Communities, the nonprofit operator of 12 continuing care retirement communities in seven states, announces Kevin Knopf as its new regional director of operations. In his new role, Knopf will be responsible for leadership, strategic planning and day-to-day operations for the five Lifespace communities in the state of Florida. Knopf comes to Lifespace Communities with more than 29 years in senior living operations leadership. He’s served in vice president and senior executive director roles for organizations including Brookdale, Erickson Living, Watermark Communities and Sunrise Senior Living. He also has corporate operations experience with Sunrise as director of information technology client services, and director of process innovation and policy. The five Florida communities Knopf will oversee are: Abbey Delray, Abbey Delray South and Harbour’s Edge in Delray Beach; The Waterford in Juno Beach; and Village on the Green in Longwood. Knopf received his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, and his master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Calicchio is a seasoned human resources executive with more than 15 years of experience in leadership roles across various industries. Prior to joining Oasis, she held human resources positions at Merck & Company, Johnson & Johnson, Bayada Home Health Care and Carnival Cruise Lines. She has broad experience in large change management initiatives such as organizational restructures, mergers, start-up companies, upsizing and downsizing event management, and complex system implementation projects such as SAP and Oracle. Calicchio received a master’s degree in human resources from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Kean College of New Jersey. She is also certified as a Society of Human Resources Management Strategic Professional.

Kaitlin Dean is an associate in the West Palm Beach office, and focuses her practice on real property. She received her Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 2016, where she graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Dean served on the executive board of the FSU moot court team, and actively participated as a member of the FSU Law Review.
J. Anthony Nelson is also an associate in the West Palm Beach office, and focuses his practice on labor and employment law. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he competed nationally on the Frederick Green Moot Court team.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties elected three new members to its board of directors for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Susan P. Brockway graduated from Stetson University with a degree in business, became a CPA, and worked at a national public accounting firm, and later as the financial controller for a real estate land developer. Brockway actively serves in the community including Saint Andrew’s School as a member of the board of trustees for six years, and chair from 2006-2008. She has served on the parents committee for the University of Virginia and on the college board of visitors for Wake Forest University, and is currently active in P.E.O. which supports women’s education; the Boca Raton Pi Beta Phi alumnae club; and serves as a deacon at Grace Presbyterian Church. Brockway is also an active member and volunteer with donor advised fund Impact 100 Palm Beach County.
Dennis S. Hudson, III, was named chairman of Seacoast Bank in July 2005 and has served as CEO of the company since June 1998. He served as president of Seacoast from June 1998 to July 2005, after serving in various positions with the company and the bank since 1978. Hudson also serves on the board of directors and the audit committee of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, a public gas and electric utilities company headquartered in Dover, Delaware, which merged with Florida Public Utilities Company in 2009. Prior to that time, he served as a member of the board of directors of FPU. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from 2005 through 2010. He has been recognized for his achievements with several awards including the Florida Senate Medallion of Excellence Award in 2001. Hudson is a graduate of Florida State University with dual degrees in finance and accounting, and a master’s degree in business administration.
Jane M. Mitchell graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. Mitchell began serving on the Kravis Center’s board of directors in 2006. During her board years, she received the center’s Alexander W. Dreyfoos Award, chaired its development committee, and served on the governance and nominating committee. Mitchell was the 2010 award recipient for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2013, she was elected as chair of the board of the Kravis Center and served for three years. In addition to local involvement, Mitchell is a graduate gemologist, and has served as founding chair of the Smithsonian Gemstone Collectors, a philanthropic support group for the National Gem Collection, where she and her husband gifted the Dom Pedro, the world’s largest cut aquamarine.
Crocker Partners LLC, headquartered in Boca Raton, announced that Angelo Bianco has assumed the role of managing partner for the real estate investment and development firm. Bianco, a partner and senior executive with Crocker organizations since 2001, takes the helm of a company with a $2 billion portfolio of Class A office and mixed-use properties in the southeast U.S. Most recently, Bianco managed Crocker Partners’ capital markets activities and investor relations, and directed operations in Florida and Texas, including acquisition and development opportunities, asset management, property management and leasing functions. He joined the Crocker organization in 2001 as senior vice president at CRT Properties, Inc., responsible for acquisition of properties and for managing the company’s Florida assets, comprised of 10 office centers with 77 buildings. Previously, Bianco was counsel for Tishman Speyer Properties concentrating on the redevelopment of Rockefeller Center in New York City. He began his career as a real estate attorney with Bachner, Tally, Polevoy & Mishner and subsequently became a partner at Anderson Kill & Olick, P.C., a New York-based law firm where he specialized in real estate. Bianco was admitted to the State Bar of New York in 1994. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from George Washington University.

Patti W. Hamilton has more than 25 years of business leadership experience focused on the areas of operations, strategic marketing, business development, employee leadership advancement and community affairs. Her career spans automotive, golf, waste management, recycling and event operations. Appointed to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women by chief financial officer Jeff Atwater in 2011, she currently serves as chair of the commission. She has served on a number of boards in her career including the Executive Committee of the National Construction and Demolition Recycling Association, the Florida Legislative Committee of the National Waste and Recycling Association and is immediate past chairman of the Florida Festivals and Events Association. She is a past chairman of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. Currently she serves on the Roger Dean Stadium advisory board and board of trustees of Jupiter Medical Center. A recipient of numerous business leadership awards, including the Athena Award and the Gaeta Chairman’s Award, Hamilton is an ideal mentor for future business leaders within the community.
Gary S. Lesser, managing partner of Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith law firm, began and continues his firm’s commitment to community involvement. The George Washington University graduate, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs, began community service by serving on the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s board of directors, as well as with the Palm Beach County Bar Association where he ultimately served as the chair of the professionalism committee and medical legal committee. Lesser focuses his involvement now with the Florida Bar, where he serves on the board of governors and the current legislation chair. He has also served as the chair of the Florida Bar’s professional ethics committee and advertising committee. Steven S. Newburgh, a partner in the West Palm Beach office of McLaughlin & Stern, LLP, has been recognized and certified by The Lawyers of Distinction as a member within the bankruptcy category, reserved for the top 10 percent of attorneys within our nation. Induction into the Lawyers of Distinction is based upon objective evaluation of an attorney’s qualifications, license, reputation, experience, and disciplinary history. Newburgh concentrates on bankruptcy law, primarily on behalf of bankruptcy trustees and creditors, corporate restructuring and reorganization, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, creditors’ rights, complex commercial litigation and entertainment law. He is particularly skillful with Chapter 11 business bankruptcy casework. He was recently elected to serve a three-year term as director of the Bankruptcy Bar Association, Southern District of Florida for Palm Beach County. He was also re-appointed as chair of the Bankruptcy Bar Association, Southern District of Florida, West Palm Beach Division’s Pro Bono committee. Newburgh also serves on the Pro-Se Clinic committee and regularly conducts the West Palm Beach Division’s monthly Pro-Se Clinic in the Bankruptcy Court. Newburgh is a co-author of Chapter 16 of the Florida Bar’s Florida Condominium and Community Association Law Treatise, Third Edition, entitled Condominium and Homeowners’ Association Liens and Bankruptcy. Newburgh attended Nova Southeastern School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1982, and his Bachelor of Arts at University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978.
