Showers, possibly thunderstorm in forecast today

The National Weather Service predicts a 40 percent chance of showers in the area after 8 a.m. today. The high will be in the low-to-mid 80s with partly sunny skies. The breeze lingers between 7 and 10 mph.

Tonight, there’s a likely chance of showers and possibly even a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., followed by more showers. Mostly cloudy skies bring a 60 percent chance of participation and the low temperature hovers around 70 degrees.

On Friday, expect some sun with a high temperature in the low 80s and winds between 13 and 17 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph. There’s a 30 percent chance of rain. Friday night, the rain chances drop to 20 percent, and forecasters predict mostly cloudy skies with a low temperature in the low 70s. Wind gusts could be as high as 20 mph.
