Roundup: Pahokee falls in football playoffs

Pahokee’s bid to return to the Class 1A state championship game came up short Friday night, as the Blue Devils fell to Madison County 28-10 in the state semifinals in Madison.

LaVonski Williams caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Deante Nelson and Ezekial Hernandez added a 22-yard field goal, but the Blue Devils (8-3) couldn’t stop the Cowboys (13-0).

Pahokee won the state championship last year, but later had to vacate the title after the Florida High School Athletic Association ruled the Blue Devils used an ineligible player.
