Roundup: Moschella leads Cardinal Newman over Jupiter


Jayson Moschella had 34 carries for 216 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Cardinal Newman football team to a 32-17 victory over Jupiter on Friday night in Jupiter.

Jack Barnum added a 32-yard touchdown reception for the Crusaders (2-0).

With the loss, Jupiter fell to 0-2 on the season.

Melbourne Central Catholic 17, No. 4 Palm Beach Central 8: Justin Kolnick returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown, but the Broncos (1-1) fell to the Hustlers (1-1) in Melbourne.

No. 9 Park Vista 27, West Boca Raton 21: John Smith had a 22-yard touchdown run and Nicholas King added another touchdown run, as the Cobras (1-1) held off the Bulls (1-1) in Lake Worth.

Forest Hill 38, Santaluces 6: Bry’yon Jones ran for two touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another scored and Darius McClendon added a rushing touchdown and an interception as the Falcons (2-0) cruised past the Chiefs (0-2) in Santaluces.

King’s Academy 48, Fort Lauderdale-Westminster Academy 7: Justin Wake had three touchdown receptions and Jeremiah Scroggins had a punt return as the Lions (2-0) raced to victory in Fort Lauderdale.

Somerset Canyons 38, Miami-Pinecrest Prep 0: Keshaun Danger had three carries for 55 yards and two touchdowns and Bryan Antoine added a touchdown reception as the Cougars (1-1) rolled in Miami.

Olympic Heights 20, Spanish River 0: James Micioni passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns, and Micheal Ippolito added 105 receiving yards and a touchdown to lead the Lions (1-1) past the Sharks (0-2).

VOLLEYBALL

Suncoast d. South Fork 25-23, 25-23, 13-25, 22-25, 15-13: Taylor Stevens had 22 kills and 15 digs and Bailey McBroom added 41 assists, 19 service points, and 18 digs as the Chargers held off the Bulldogs in Riviera Beach.
