Girls soccer: Cardinal Newman opens season with consecutive shutouts

Rebekah Bradley and Anna Severtson each scored two goals, leading the Cardinal Newman girls soccer team to an 8-0 rout of Lake Worth Christian on Wednesday in West Palm Beach.

It was the second consecutive shutout to start the season for the Crusaders, as Jennifer Jacobs and Severtson each had a goal and an assist as the Crusaders defeated Royal Palm Beach 4-0 on Tuesday night.

Jupiter 3, Jensen Beach 0: Brielle Pearce, Rebecca Welch and Isabella Alfaro each scored a goal and Julia Cain had four saves to earn the shutout as the Warriors (1-0) defeated the Falcons in Jupiter.

Olympic Heights 6, Atlantic 0: Daniele Smith had two goals and an assist and Haley Jacobowitz added a goal and an assist as the Tigers (1-0-1) routed the Eagles (0-1) in Boca Raton.

Inlet Grove 5, Port St. Lucie 2: Jada Hall had a hat trick and Desiree Coleman-Williams added two goals as the Hurricanes (1-0) defeated the Jaguars in Riviera Beach.

St. John Paul 2, St. Andrew’s 0: Olivia Polimeni and Erika Daghar each scored a goal, leading the Eagles (1-0) over the Scots (0-2) in Boca Raton.
