Girls basketball: Seminole Ridge holds on to win


Aneeshea Cason had 14 points and eight rebounds, leading the Seminole Ridge girls basketball team to a 38-34 victory over Tavares on Tuesday at the Palm Beach Shoot Out.

Jahnae Midget contributed 15 points and eight rebounds and Lynzie Smikle added five points and 12 rebounds for the Hawks (5-5).

Fort Lauderdale-Boyd Anderson 43, Grandview Prep 40: Danielle Montelbano had 10 points and five assists, but the Pride fell to the Cobras in Fort Lauderdale.

Port St. Lucie-Treasure Coast 49, Atlantic Christian 26: Britney Carver scored 15 points and Misha Mercius added five, but the Sharks (6-2) fell to the Titans at host Atlantic Christian’s Palm Beach Shootout in West Palm Beach.
