Boys basketball: No. 2 Wellington improves to 24-0


Texan Moulton had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, leading the second-ranked Wellington boys basketball team to a 77-47 rout of Village Academy on Wednesday night in Wellington.

Bryan Williams added 10 points for the Wolverines (24-0).

Village Academy fell to 9-10 on the season.

Cardinal Newman 46, Palm Beach Gardens 40: Castra Gedeon had 13 points and four steals and Emmanuel Onuama added 12 points, leading the Crusaders (10-9) over the Gators (4-17) in Palm Beach Gardens. Christian Arteaga scored 19 points for Gardens.

Somerset Canyons 74, Grandview Prep 64: Karl Jayseus scored 15 points and John Mercado added 14, leading the Cougars (10-12) over the Pride in Boca Raton.

St. Andrew’s 60, Ransom Everglades 40: Jammy Pierre-Louis had 17 points and six rebounds and Jackson Kennedy added 11 points, giving the Scots (17-6) the win in Boca Raton.
