Boys basketball: John I. Leonard earns victory


Jerquan Worthen scored 27 points, leading the John I. Leonard boys basketball team to a 74-63 victory over Elite Academy on Saturday in Greenacres.

Jevon Allen added 16 points and Tyrese Monecla contributed 10 points for the Lancers.

Monsignor Scanlan (N.Y.) 57, Oxbridge Academy 42: Anthony Joseph scored 11 points, but the Thunderwolves (3-5) fell at the Kreul Classica.

LATE FRIDAY

Heritage School (Ga.) 50, No. 5 Atlantic 49: Kadeem Wilks had 13 points and Ladarian Variance added 12, but the Eagles (3-4) were edged at the Kreul Classic in Coral Springs.

Coral Springs 79, No. 10 Boca Raton 70: Cade Long scored 12 points, and Maxime Demeus added 10, but the Bobcats fell at the Kreul Classic.

Leflore (Ala.) 64, Oxbridge Academy 60 (OT): Casey Meyers scored 17 points, and A.J. Cajuste added 16, but the ThunderWolves fell at the Kreul Classic.
