Benjamin cruises to win, Gardens splits in baseball


Benjamin 9, Washington D.C.-St. Albans 0: Jack Keiser was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double; Aaron Steinhart went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double, and Isaiah Thomas was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double as the Buccaneers (7-6) shut out the visiting Bulldogs.

Palm Beach Gardens 8, North Carolina-Covenant Day 2: Preston Colp was 2-for-3 with four RBI and pitcher Angelo Navaroli struck out six as the host Gators (5-8) defeated the Lions.

St. John Paul II Academy 6, Palm Beach Gardens 5: Nick Kashuba went 2-for-3 and Nick Presto was 2-for-4 but the Gators (5-8) fell to the Eagles.

Lake Worth Christian 13, Miami-Dade Christian 3: Timmy Jacobus was 2-for-3 with two RBI; Alden Stacie was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a triple as the Defenders (10-2) defeated the Crusaders in Miami.

Oxbridge Academy 9, Lake Mary 8: Conor Davies scooped in four goals and goalie Christian Tomei grabbed 15 saves as the Thunderwolves got past the Rams.
