Basketball: Benjamin boys rout American Heritage


Ben Lubarsky had 18 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Benjamin boys basketball team to a 70-45 rout of American Heritage on Saturday in Palm Beach Gardens.

Jordan Travis scored 13 points and Kaiir Elam added 11 points for the Buccaneers (14-7).

FRIDAY’S RESULTS

No. 2 Wellington 65, Seminole Ridge 34: Texas Moulton had 12 points and six rebounds and Nico Toledo added 10 assists and eight points as the Wolverines (21-0) routed the Hawks in Wellington. Linton Brown added 14 points for Wellington.

No. 7 Santaluces 59, Boca Raton 58: Chance Dixon made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points and Jean Frejuste added 13 as the Chiefs (15-5) edged the Bobcats in Lantana.

Palm Beach Central 57, Palm Beach Gardens 40: Gyvicht Geneus had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Drew Potter added 10 points to go with 12 rebounds and Tre Jackson contributed 11 points as the Broncos (13-7) handled the Gators (4-12) in Palm Beach Gardens. Christian Arteaga scored 12 points for Gardens.

Jupiter 66, John I. Leonard 59: Josh Williams scored 19 points, Jaquel Stroman added 13 and Demeatrius Brown contributed 11 as the Warriors (9-10) held off the Lancers in Greenacres. Jevon Allen led all scorers with 21 points for Leonard.

Atlantic 75, Spanish River 63: Kadeem Wilkes scored 16 points as the Eagles (11-9) defeated the Sharks (5-4) in Boca Raton. Malacai Davis scored 19 points for Spanish River.

Oxbridge Academy 43, Cardinal Newman 38: Dante Wilcox led all scorers with 16 points and Klein Alexandre added 12 as the ThunderWolves (13-8) got past the Crusaders in West Palm Beach.

Grandview Prep 49, Atlantic Christian 41: Chance Donovan had a triple-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 12 blocks to help the Pride (16-1) hold off the Sharks in West Palm Beach.

Jupiter Christian 72, Boca Raton Christian 56: Gethro Germinal scored 23 points, Gedeon Germinal added 18 points and 12 rebounds and Dion Fernander contributed 18 points and five assists as the Eagles (16-4) overpowered the Blazers in Boca Raton.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cardinal Newman 49, Park Vista 42: Bianca Cantando had 19 points, eight assists, seven steals and six rebounds and Christell Mentor added 13 rebounds as the Crusaders (12-11) got past the Cobras in Boynton Beach.

Grandview Prep 63, Atlantic Christian 40: Danielle Montelbano had 26 points and eight assists, Alexis Romer added 13 points and seven assists and Ciadorah Angervil contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Pride (13-6) routed the Sharks in West Palm Beach.
