Roundup: Park Vista records playoff upset

Atorian Perry caught a pair of touchdown passes from John Smith, as sixth-ranked and eighth-seeded Park Vista upset top-seeded Miramar 28-20 in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs Friday night in Miramar.

With the victory, the Cobras improved to 8-2 and snapped the top-seeded Patriots’ winning streak at eight games. Miramar finishes the season 8-2.

Pembroke Pines-West Broward 31, No. 9 Forest Hill 26: The fifth-seeded Falcons (8-2) entered the fourth quarter leading 26-17 after two long touchdown runs from Bryyon Jones and two more by Darius McClendon, but the fourth-seeded Bobcats (8-2) rallied for the win in a Class 7A contest in Pembroke Pines.

Moore Haven 42, Glades Day 35: Alex Mineo threw three touchdown passes and rushed for 41 yards and two more scores, but the fourth-seeded Gators (5-4) fell to the top-seeded Terriers (10-0) in a Class 2A matchup in Moore Haven.

West Boca Raton 8, Atlantic 0: Alexa O’Brien had three goals and an assist and Julia Ornstein added two goals as the Bulls (1-0) routed the Eagles in Boca Raton.
