Sports Illustrated touts Washington’s 2018 QB class as best in the nation

The Washington Huskies created a logjam at quarterback after Jake Browning departs next season. Huskies coach Chris Petersen is in a favorable situation at the position and it’s not going unnoticed.

Sports Illustrated ranked the best 2018 recruiting classes by position. Washington’s infusion of talented quarterbacks resulted in a No. 1 ranking.

The Huskies added quarterbacks Colson Yankoff and Jacob Sirmon during National Signing Day. They are two worthy replacements with different skill sets. Yankoff is a 4-star dual-threat quarterback while Sirmon is a 4-star prostyle passer.

Washington didn’t stop with Yankoff and Sirmon. The rich got even richer in Seattle. Washington native Jacob Eason announced that he is transferring to the school from Georgia. Eason was a 5-star quarterback in the 2016 recruiting class.

Browning is the undisputed starter in 2018. The following year is going to feature a highly-competitive quarterback competition. That’s a good problem to have for Petersen.
