Nebraska basketball players sent a message through social media Thursday night, aiming a message at a fellow student who claimed to be the “most-active” white nationalist in Nebraska.

Individually, Nebraska players tweeted “Hate will never win” at the same time. It was a response to Nebraska student Daniel Kleve, who, according to the Lincoln Star Journal, was seen in a video that surfaced earlier in the week “discussing his desire to be violent.”

Tim Miles was impressed with his team’s collective action, tweeting “I love these young men!”

“When my players realized that there’s a person with hate in his heart walking across campus and attending classes with other students and athletes, that struck close to home,” Miles told Yahoo Sports. “They wanted to do something to show that they’re willing to take a firm stand against hate speech and against racism.”

Nebraska, which has won six of its last seven games, faces Rutgers at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in Lincoln. The Huskers will be wearing “Hate will never win” warm-up shirts, according to Yahoo.
