Florida State WR Nyquan Murray leaves game against Clemson with first quarter injury

Florida State wide receiver Nyqwan Murray left in the first quarter of the Seminoles’ game at Clemson on Saturday with what appeared to be a leg injury.

Murray originally went to the Seminoles injury tent after going down. After some time spent there, he would then limp to the team’s locker room. His return is unknown at this time.

Coming into Saturday’s game, Murray had made 28 catches for 437 yards and 2 touchdowns in 8 games this season. He is on track for a career year as a junior after making 27 catches for 441 yards and 5 touchdowns in all of 2016.

Florida State is already thin in the wide receiver corps. Auden Tate and Keith Gavin are playing against the Tigers, but losing Murray would be a big blow to the team as they look to pull off a road upset and not only end Clemson’s chances at repeating as national champions, but playing spoiler in the ACC Atlantic Division race. With NC State’s win against Boston College, a Clemson loss would send the Tigers to 6-2 in the conference, a half-game back of the Wolfpack.
