Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher expects makeup game with Louisiana-Monroe to move forward

It is looking more and more likely that Florida State’s cancelled game against Louisiana-Monroe that was originally scheduled for September 9 will indeed be played.

School officials said on Wednesday that they would make a decision on whether or not the game would be played in the following week. Now, with the Seminoles’ road to a bowl a little clearer, there is now more of an incentive for them to move forward with the game.

Jimbo said he expects the ULM game to be rescheduled

The Seminoles defeated Syracuse 24-21 on Saturday behind a missed Orange field goal that would have sent the game to overtime. Their record now stands at 3-5, and while a loss to Clemson may be expected, their final two scheduled games are against against FCS Delaware State and a Florida team that got slaughtered by Missouri. That could encourage school officials to go ahead with rescheduling the game, especially since Florida State would be in a bowl game if they win out, even with a loss to the Tigers.

Nothing official yet … but with that win there’s 99.9 percent chance the Louisiana-Monroe game will be rescheduled for Dec. 2.

According to reports, the game between Florida State and Louisiana-Monroe would be played on December 2.
