BREAKING: Duke F Marvin Bagley III to miss second straight game

Duke freshman phenom Marvin Bagley III will miss his second straight game with a mild right knee sprain, the school announced on Wednesday afternoon. Bagley missed the Georgia Tech win on Sunday due to the same issue.

NEWS: Freshman forward Marvin Bagley III will miss tonight’s game versus Virginia Tech as he continues to recover from a mild right knee sprain.

— Duke Basketball (@DukeMBB) February 14, 2018

Bagley is averaging 21.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils this season. Duke faces Virginia Tech, which just beat Virginia on the road, on Wednesday night in Durham.

Marques Bolden started in Bagley’s place against the Yellow Jackets, and he’s expected to get the nod once again. Wendell Carter posted 19 points and 10 rebounds in Bagley’s absence and figures to be a big part of Mike Krzyzewski’s game plan against the Hokies.

It will be interesting to see if Bagley can recover in time for Duke’s huge road game at Clemson on Saturday.
