Lawsuit: Harbourside’s Mastroianni illegally using investor money

Nicholas Mastroianni II, developer of Harbourside Place in Jupiter, fraudulently uses money raised from foreign investors, and his actions would cause “serious problems” should there ever be an audit by the U.S. government, according to a lawsuit filed by Mastroianni’s former chief financial officer and business partner.

FPL, NextEra see $1.52B profit for 2014

Driven by such investments as its new natural-gas fired plant in Riviera Beach, Florida Power & Light Co.’s earnings rose 14 percent for the fourth quarter and 9 percent for the year ended Dec. 31, the company said Tuesday.

FPL, with roughly 4.7 million customer accounts, averaged about 68,000 more customers during the fourth quarter of 2014 than in the same quarter of 2013.

Former Belle Glade hospital bought by Calif. addiction rehab center

The long vacant Glades General Hospital was purchased at a deep discount last week, selling for $1.8 million to a well-known Malibu, Calif., drug and alcohol treatment center.

In a deal that closed Friday, an affiliate of Passages Malibu bought the 92,095-square-foot facility, which has been on the market since May 2013. The 14-acre property was originally advertised with a price tag of $7 million.
