“As many Americans come together to watch the Super Bowl, Melania and I extend our greetings and appreciation for those who make occasions like this possible, particularly the brave men and women of our Armed Forces.

Though many of our Nation’s service members are unable to be home with family and friends to enjoy this evening’s American tradition, they are always in our thoughts and prayers. We owe these heroes the greatest respect for defending our liberty and our American way of life. Their sacrifice is stitched into each star and every stripe of our Star-Spangled Banner. We hold them in our hearts and thank them for our freedom as we proudly stand for the National Anthem.

We send our best wishes for an enjoyable Super Bowl Sunday. May God bless and protect our troops, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.”

UPDATE, 2:40 p.m.: After five hours at his golf course, President Trump’s motorcade begins the trip back to Mar-A-Lago.

Along the route, there was a show of support for the Tennessee dad who bought air time on a local station, hoping to catch Trump’s attention on Super Bowl Sunday. Click here for more on that story.

During the president’s earlier visits to Palm Beach the motorcade route was lined with protestors. Now, Trump supporters far outnumber protestors.

UPDATE 11:48 a.m. Here’s a look at recent social media posts from Mar-a-Lago.

Media personality to regular guest on Fox, Dr. Gina Gentry posted this last night.

This man. I can’t say enough how if you don’t know him, you really shouldn’t say anything because he is the most genuine, loving, loyal, sharp, brilliant, appreciative, gracious people you will ever know. That’s especially true if you are leftist regressive or #fakenews! Wake up! He is the best President in history and you could be part of it! Don’t miss out! This is the best of the best of history! And you are alive and choosing to bully instead of build up? Get in. #YOLO! #maga! Love #mypresident! Will have to decide what I want to share considering what #fakenews does with my posts. But tonight was special. I wish the whole world could just know this man, @realdonaldtrump #MAGA! 🇺🇸🌴🌸

UPDATE 9:50 a.m.: President Trump has been briefed on the South Carolina crash involving an Amtrak passenger train and a CSX freight train. Two people have been reported dead and 70 have been hospitalized, according to the latest reports.

Meanwhile, the president’s motorcade has arrived at Trump International Golf Club, as Trump may well play a round of golf despite the wind and rain.

UPDATE 9:18 a.m.: Rain and wind in Palm Beach may threaten the president’s morning golf ritual, but his motorcade still pulled out of Mar-a-Lago shortly after 9 a.m.

His Super Bowl party at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach is still on for this evening, and he is expected to head back to the White House tonight.

Original story: A grieving father is hoping President Trump sees the television ad about his daughter’s death that he purchased on a local television station which will run before the Super Bowl.

Steve Eimers hopes the low-budget commercial to air on WPTV Channel 5 before the big games will convince the president to meet with the president about highway safety.

Trump spent five hours on Saturday at his golf club before returning to Mar-a-Lago mid-afternoon.

Saturday evening should have been the glitziest of the year at Mar-a-Lago, but the Red Cross canceled its annual ball at the president’s private club after his comments about a violent white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., last year.

Instead, the president spent some time tweeting about the Nunes memo released Friday. Quoting from a Wall Street Journal editorial critical of the tactics used in the Russia investigation, Trump decried the media’s focus on the investigation instead of rising employment figures.

LATEST UPDATES: Trump in Palm Beach

Last year, the president left the Super Bowl party during the third-quarter, missing the New England Patriot’s epic comeback. This year he will also miss the end of the game as FAA alerts to pilots indicate Air Force One will leave Palm Beach International Airport around 9:30 p.m.
