Update 1:11 p.m.: A new security alert issued by the FAA today indicates the president could arrive at Palm Beach International Airport after 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The new alert to pilots shows possible “VIP movement” in airspace near Palm Beach beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending Sunday 5 p.m.Although the alerts do not identify the VIP, the president’s to Palm Beach have all been preceded by such an alert.

A Saturday arrival would enable the president to attend a $100,000-per-couple fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday evening for his 2020 re-election campaign.

Update 12:11 p.m.: For now, roads near Mar-a-Lago will remain closed until the White House confirms that the president will not visit on Saturday. The White House has confirmed that the president has cancelled plans to travel to Palm Beach today.

The Town of Palm Beach will post a travel alert and email the alert to subscribers if road closures are lifted. President Donald Trump will not make a planned trip to Mar-a-Lago today because of a looming federal government shutdown, a White House official told The Palm Beach Post this morning.

Trump was scheduled to arrive at Palm Beach International Airport tonight for a weekend trip that includes a Saturday fundraiser for his 2020 re-election campaign at Mar-a-Lago.

The official who confirmed today’s travel is off did not address the president’s plans for the remainder of the weekend.

Trump was planning to make the 12th Palm Beach visit of his presidency. But Congress has not reached a spending agreement to keep the federal government operating past midnight.

Saturday is the one-year anniversary of Trump taking office. The Trump campaign recently announced a “special sweepstakes” in which a winner will get to attend dinner Saturday at Mar-a-Lago with Trump, first lady Melania Trump and Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
