For Tommy Haas, the moment that convinced him he had plenty left, even after turning 34 and after a series of injuries that culminated with hip surgery in 2010, was hoisting the trophy at Halle, Germany, last summer, while standing next to the man he beat in the final, Roger Federer.
That victory propelled Haas to the ATP Comeback Player of the Year for 2012. Now, the German is continuing to rise, advancing to today’s semifinals of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships with a 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 6-1 victory over Ivan Dodig on Friday.
