George Andino walked off the court and hugged each coach and player on the St. Andrew’s team Thursday. He watched the final 90 seconds of the Class 4A state championship game from his seat on the bench.
As helpless as he felt there, Andino felt similar emotions on the court, where St. Andrew’s never recovered from an early Orlando-Lake Highland Prep rush of momentum and the Scots fell 67-50 to the Highlanders in the title game at The Lakeland Center. It’s the third loss in a state championship game for St. Andrew’s since 1995.
