Tiger Woods has broken 70 only once in the first round of 18 previous Masters appearances. So while the prohibitive favorite in this year’s tournament has some ground to make up, he was understandably relaxed and confident after posting a 34-36-70 Thursday.
“It’s a good start,” Woods said. “Some years some guys (have) shot 65 starting out here. But right now I’m four back and I’m right there.”
