Doug LaCrosse of Tampa completed a unique golfing trifecta Thursday when he won the 52nd annual Florida State Senior Amateur Championship at Quail Ridge Country Club.
LaCrosse, 60, becomes the first player in the 100-year history of Florida State Golf Association tournaments to win the “big three” of competitions. He previously captured the state amateur in 1992 at Bonita Bay in Bonita Springs and the 1995 state mid-amateur at Laurel Oak in Sarasota.
