Roberto Castro, a second-year PGA Tour pro from Atlanta who had made the cut in only half of the 14 tournaments in which he had played this year, tied the course record Thursday with a 9-under-par 63 to take a three-shot lead after the first round of the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
