Jim Parmer taught Ireland, his grandson, all about that. He was the man who originally got the Dolphins’ general manager hooked on player evaluation. Parmer was a two-way player and NFL champion with the 1948 and 1949 Philadelphia Eagles who made himself into something of a super-scout.
