The Heat streak is over, stopped at 27 on the 27th day of March in Chicago, but for many who witnessed a significant portion of it, the clutch shots, vicious slams, spectacular statistics and stunning comebacks won’t soon be forgotten.
It was something to see, to watch a team – one that has struggled at times to sustain focus – storm through the league for more than seven weeks, getting the better of opponents even when not at its best. It was something unexpected and exhilarating during a season most saw as a sloggy prelude to the playoffs.
