Marlins outfielders Christian Yelich and Jake Marisnick had lockers near each other in spring training, were roommates in Jupiter when both were rehabilitating injuries the first month of the season and lived together in Jacksonville while both were getting more seasoning in Class AA.
So it was only fitting they were promoted to the big leagues on the same day and made their major league debuts simultaneously, just 24 hours after both were removed from the Jacksonville Suns’ game Monday after each reached first base — on consecutive pitches — and was lifted for a pinch runner.
