Port St. Lucie woman runs over boyfriend during attack, police say

A Port St. Lucie man was taken to the hospital after a fight with his girlfriend got out of control and she ran over him.

Malcolm Jamal Lester, 24, was arguing with his 21-year-old girlfriend just before noon Tuesday when she tried to flee.

Port St. Lucie police said that after she got into her Mercedes SUV to leave her home, in the 400 block of Southeast Starfish, Lester began to attack her.

While he was grabbing onto her, he slipped, fell under the SUV and she ran over him, the police report states.

By the time officers arrived, Lester was lying on the ground with injuries to both ankles. The two have lived together for three years.

Lester told police that what happened to him was an accident and not her fault, according the the police report.

Police took him to Tradition Medical Center, where it was determined that he had no broken bones, before booking him into the St. Lucie County Jail on a charge of battery.
